Toulouse claim stunning win at Hull KR

Toulouse players celebrate a try in the Challenge Cup.

Toulouse Olympique came from 20-6 down at half-time to claim a memorable 31-30 victory against Hull KR.

The French outfit have now inflicted the only two league defeats on the Robins this season having beaten them 14-6 earlier in the year.

Stanislas Robin kicked the winning drop-goal to dampen KR’s league leaders shield celebrations, but more importantly it kept alive Toulouse’s hopes of a place in the Qualifiers.

First-half tries from Danny Addy, Shaun Lunt and Adam Quinlan cancelled out Mark Kheirallah’s early try and seemingly put Rovers in charge.

However Toulouse dominated after the break with two tries apiece from Bastien Ader and Robin, combined with five goals from Kheirallah and a Robin drop-goal, propelling them to a famous win.

Halifax’s win at Featherstone means they are still two points adrift of the top four, they do however have a superior points difference with Fax to play Hull KR at home next weekend.

Should Halifax lose and Toulouse beat Featherstone the night before, then the French side will claim the final spot in the Qualifiers and a shot at Super League status.
