Toulouse add French international

Toulouse have announced the signing of former Catalans Dragons forward Remi Casty for the 2021 season.

Casty had been with the Dragons since the start of their Super League adventure back in 2006. Apart from a year in Australia with Sydney Roosters in the NRL, he spent almost all of his career in the south of France.

The French international helped his side win the Challenge Cup in 2018, and has also featured in the playoffs several times for his side.

He was released by the Dragons at the end of the 2020 season, after being informed he would not be offered a new contract.

Casty said: “I’m just happy to have signed for Toulouse Olympique and excited about our mission. No French club has succeeded to get into the Super League, and to participate in that would be fantastic, for the
club but also for the XIII in general. ”

President Bernard Sarrazain added: “Rémi’s arrival is an essential asset in view of the team’s objective. He is a competitor and a leader, he knows what his role will be within the group, and we expect a lot from him. “
