Toronto games won’t be televised

Three of Toronto’s remaining six homes games won’t be shown on TV in England or Canada.

The fixtures against Halifax (July 6), Rochdale (August 17) and Barrow (August 31) all clash with Catalans Dragons home games on Sky Sports, the Wolfpack’s host broadcaster.

Toronto state that logistical issues have prevented them changing kick-off times, resulting in a global TV blackout.

Sky Sports are responsible for broadcasting all the Wolfpack’s fixtures, both home and away.

The Sky pictures are then shared globally to CBC Sports, GameTV (both Canada), Eleven Sports (USA), Sky Sports (NZ), Fox (AUS) and Setanta (Asia).

A statement on the club’s website reads: “Due to a scheduling conflict on the Toronto Wolfpack’s host broadcast network – Sky Sports, a select number of upcoming matches have been affected. The Wolfpack looked into changing KO times, however logistical issues mean this has not been possible, and as a result have reluctantly decided to cancel the broadcasts of three upcoming games that coincide with Catalans Dragons home broadcasts on Sky Sports.”

Toronto’s five other remaining games will be televised though, as the club look to secure a place in Super League next season.
