Top try-scorer Ken Sio confirms his future

Ken Sio has signed a new two-year deal at Salford Red Devils, the club announced at its player awards ceremony tonight.

Former Salford boss Richard Marshall knew they faced a challenge to keep hold of him, with the winger in superb form for Salford in 2021.

“We will be doing our best to keep hold of Ken,” said the Salford boss.

“It was great team spirit that everyone wanted to get him to that milestone.

“For a team that finished near the bottom of the table and have the top try scorer is a nice accolade.”

Sio went clear of the try-scoring charts after registering a double in the Red Devils’ surprise 26-14 win over an under-strength St Helens last Friday night.

The Australian winger first came to UK shores in 2015 after signing for Hull KR, where he spent two seasons.

Sio has spent three seasons at Salford after moving in 2019 following a short stint with the Newcastle Knights in the NRL, but that will now turn into five with his new deal.
