Hull KR boss Tony Smith was more than happy with his side’s performance in Rovers’ victory over Wigan, but admitted there were some things that frustrated him during the game.
“It was patchy at times, whilst we got the win I don’t think we played particularly well in some patches and in some aspects of our game, our attack wasn’t as free flowing,” Smith said.
“I thought Wigan shut us down in some areas which I give all credit to them in terms of commitment to the cause and defending the try-line.
“I did struggle in the second-half because I was angry about some things.”
Smith was happy with how Rowan Milnes performed after just signing a new long-term deal at the club.
“Rowan stepped up tonight, I didn’t think he was great last week but he stepped up a whole lot better tonight and guided us around.
“I don’t think we were fluent, but there was certainly some strong performances – I thought Matty Parcell really ran hard and Ryan Hall put in a big shift again.”
