Tony Gigot finds new club

Wakefield Trinity's Tony Gigot attempts to pass Toby King of Warrington Wolves

Former Wakefield and Catalans star Tony Gigot has joined Championship club Toulouse.

The 30-year-old playmaker and Lance Todd Trophy winner in Catalans Dragons’ historic Challenge Cup final at Wembley in 2018, left the Dragons at the end of 2019. Since then, Gigot had spells with Toronto and Wakefield before re-joining his old club Avignon in the French Elite Championship at the start of 2020

Gigot will link up with his old Catalans captain Remi Casty at Toulouse – a side aiming for promotion to Super League.

Toulouse president Bernard Sarrazain said: “It is with great joy that I welcome Tony.

“With a player of his calibre, who will come to add to the talents already present in the workforce, we will see the Toulouse Olympique achieve great things this season.”

Gigot said: “I’m very happy to join Toulouse. I’m going to do my best to help the club reach our goal. I only need one thing, it’s to join the team and start playing.”
