St Helens and England winger Tommy Makinson has been granted a testimonial by the RFL for the 2021 season.

The 29-year-old made his St Helens debut in 2011 after graduating through their academy and has been an outstanding servant to the club since.

He has won three Grand Finals, in 2014, 2019 and 2020, making 244 appearances, scoring 138 tries and 800 points, and becoming renowned for his acrobatic finishing ability.

He received his first senior international call-up for England in 2018, starring under Wayne Bennett in the Test series against New Zealand and being awarded the Golden Boot as the world’s best international player that year.

He will now celebrate 10 years in the professional game in 2021, with a series of events set to take place throughout the year.

“I’m delighted to have been awarded a testimonial year at the Saints,” said Makinson. “Winning our back to back Grand Final on Friday was something I will never forget and I can’t wait for next year now.

“I’m forever grateful to St Helens for the amazing 10 years I’ve been a professional at the club and the many years before in the academy system. Without the help of all my coaches, fans, teammates and amazing family, my dream would of never become a reality.”
