Tommy Leuluai missed the last few months of the Super League campaign with a hamstring tear as it looks increasingly likely that the playmaker will no longer be playing in a Wigan shirt.
It could mean, however that Leuluai could join the Warriors’ backroom staff as the upheaval of the club continues following Adrian Lam’s sacking.
Lam was given his marching orders following a less-than successful season, with Wigan sitting in fourth, but scoring the least points per game than any other side in the top flight.
The former Papua New Guinea international did address the future of Leuluai during the week.
“That’s in the hands of the club at the moment and what happens next,” Lam said.
“He’s been a great part of the club here over a long period of time and our current captain, so I can imagine him staying here in some capacity for the next year or two.
