Tom Johnstone makes important revelation about concussion injury

Tom Johnstone is one of the most talented rugby league players to take to the field in this day and age.

With an eye for the line with some incredible finishes and pace to burn, the England flier is sometimes in a league of his own when it comes to being a winger.

However, that stellar poise and admirable agility has not been broadcast as much in recent seasons given the harrowing injuries that Johnstone has suffered – none more so than the concussion problems he suffered throughout the 2021 Super League season.

In fact, his issue was enough to keep the winger sidelined for the rest of the season after a concussion problem in September, but Johnstone has now revealed that he is ready to go.

“The concussion is absolutely fine,” Johnstone said.

“Obviously I got another knock at the Magic Weekend so I had to go to see another specialist who said I needed to get in shape and have a lay off from contact etc.

“So I spent the last six weeks training five days a week with a strength and conditioner and a nutritionist to get myself to where I need to be.”

That will definitely be music to Wakefield fans’ ears as preparations ramp up for the 2022 season.
