Toby King opens up on new Warrington contract

Toby King signed a new long-term deal with the Warrington Wolves back in the summer, and now the centre has spoken out about his thoughts on signing it as well as more personal information.

The Englishman spoke on Through The Wire – an official podcast from the Warrington club about his new contract and how difficult the season has been in general.

“I was buzzing to sign the contract for the next four years and to finally get it done,” King said.

“It’s been brutal this season, we’re a product of not buying into a proper rugby players association because it takes a lot of toll on your body.

“When we go to war on a weekend your body can be really hurting, we need to rest more.

“Games were coming thick and fast, three games a week and some teams have actually played five more games than we did this year.

“However, compared to what fans go through with buying tickets, what fans go through and get a game canceled on them I feel sorry for them.

“Sometimes we can think we get a week off and we’re fully fit for the week after.”
