Tim Sheens sacked by Rovers

Super League side Hull KR have confirmed on their website that Head Coach Tim Sheens has left the club . It is believed the Robins , who are currently 11th in Super League 2 points ahead of bottom side London , have terminated the Australian Coaches contract with immediate effect despite it having 5 months still to run .

A run of 6 defeats in 7 games had left the club in perilous danger of being relegated and they were also knocked out of the cup last Friday by Warrington , which was Sheens last game in charge .

Rumours began surfacing on Monday that a change of coach was imminent but Sheens took charge of training on Tuesday , albeit with a strange atmosphere as word got round . It is believed Sheens was informed of the decision on Wednesday afternoon bringing an end to his 2 and a half years at the club . He joined Rovers from Salford and led the club to 47 wins from 84 games , which included 1 season in the Championship .

The club will be making a further announcement on Thursday as they prepare for a crucial Super League clash on Sunday against fellow strugglers Wigan .
