Throwback: Jamie Peacock floors Willie Mason after cheap shot on Stuart Fielden

Today we throwback to 2006 and Great Britain’s last win against Australia down under.

There had been plenty of trash talk from both camps leading into the Tri-Nations game at the Sydney Football Stadium.

And it took only three minutes for sparks to fly as Stuart Fielden ran at Aussie bad boy Willie Mason.

The pair came together after the tackle with Mason throwing a cheap shot into Fielden’s temple, dropping the GB prop.

Players then started to run in from all angles before Jamie Peacock came in and taught Mason a lesson.

Incredibly Mason avoided any punishment from referee Ashley Klein and stayed on the pitch for the remainder of the game.

It was a game British rugby league fans will never forget as Brian Noble’s men went on to produce a performance against all the odds.

Gareth Raynor was the unlikely hero on the night as his late try secured a 23-12 win, Great Britain’s first win in Sydney since 1988.
