According to owner Derek Beaumont, “the plan” at Leigh Leopards is to make further signings ahead of the 2023 Super League season.

The Leopards always wanted a middle forward but may also want a winger after losing Blake Ferguson on compassionate grounds.

They have one quota spot to use after the loss of Nene MacDonald to Leeds Rhinos alongside Ferguson’s exit.

They may use this on a forward or a winger.

With that in mind, here is three wingers they could sign for 2023.

Josh Mansour
Still not signed to a club ahead of 2023 and openly keen on a move to Super League, Josh Mansour would be the perfect replacement for Ferguson given he offers the same kind of experience and power. He has been a top winger for over a decade in the NRL with South Sydney and Penrith.

Steven Marsters
Cousin to Huddersfield Giants bound Esan Marsters, Steven is a great goal kicker and try scorer as we saw in the Rugby League World Cup. Linked with a move to Catalans Dragons, the Leopards could swoop in and try and sway him to Leigh Sports Village.

Umyla Hanley
Pictured in training at Leigh in pre-season but not yet signed on permanently. He seems like the most likely signing and a winger who would allow the Leopards to use their quota spot on prop.
