Three Super League clubs who could sign Adam Doueihi

Adam Doueihi

Earlier in May, it was reported that off-contract Wests Tigers’ man Adam Doueihi had only been offered a minimum salary deal, prompting suggestions that he could instead opt for a Super League move.

Adam Doueihi has plenty of experience with 87 NRL games to his name whilst he has also represented Lebanon at two World Cups, however, he has found himself out of favour at his current club Wests Tigers.

Former Leeds Rhinos man Aiden Sezer is ahead of him in the pecking order, as are a multitude of others including the incoming Jarome Luai who Wests will be paying $1.2 million per year.

Instead, Doueihi has been offered an NRL minimum of just $150,000, approximately £78,000, a figure that is well within the reach of several Super League clubs who would benefit from an overseas stand-off.

Sydney Morning Herald’s Michael Chammas revealed: “Tigers have spoken to Adam Doueihi and they’ve offered him a deal for next year. It’s my understanding that it’s a near-minimum wage deal worth $150,000.

“It seems like a low-ball offer. He is only 25 years old and he has been one of the Tigers’ better players when he has been on the field.”

Moreover, Wests have had their CEO Shane Richardson in England looking to flog players to clear their books including John Bateman, despite the recent reports that the England international wants to remain down under.

With that said, here are three of the clubs who could be making enquiries about Adam Doueihi for the 2025 Super League season.

Castleford Tigers

The Tigers are a team that have made plenty of re-signings for 2025 but not too many signings. Both Innes and Louis Senior have committed to turn their loan deals into permanent moves but at the moment the Tigers are struggling to create opportunities for their wide men.

Current half-backs Rowan Milnes and Jacob Miller haven’t clicked as expected and Danny Richardson’s future at the clubs looks to be up in the air after they loaned him out to Hull KR for the season.

As such, someone like Adam Doueihi could be just what Cas need. He’d be 26 by next season and could help form an exciting spine along with Tex Hoy, should Castleford be able to sign him permanently. It would also be a signing to inspire confidence in the fans who have raised questions about the club’s ambition.

Hull FC

The Black and Whites are in such dire straits that they’ve been linked with almost every man and his dog but so far Adam Doueihi doesn’t seem to have had his name mentioned. Instead, Hull FC are reportedly interested in his teammate Jayden Sullivan.

Sullivan would command £180,000 but with Doueihi only offered a deal worth less than £80,000 by Wests then he could surely be tempted over for a smaller fee than Sullivan. He would free up Jake Trueman more and be a much-needed spark in the spine.

Hull FC have already splashed the cash on John Asiata to anchor their one, six, seven and nine combo, but making a key signing within the halves would certainly cement the new direction the club intend to take under John Cartwright.

Leigh Leopards

Leigh are set to lose numerous overseas players which means they will have quota spots available and signing Adam Doueihi to partner Lachlan Lam could be a brilliant use of one of those spots.

Matt Moylan has looked very impressive this season but he’s clicked far more at full-back. Signing Doueihi would allow Moylan to remain at full-back and provide Lam with an accomplished partner in the halves.

Adam Doueihi has himself also played full-back on plenty of occasions so would allow versatility in the spine if Adrian Lam wanted to chop and change.
