Three players to depart St Helens

St Helens have revealed that, as well as head coach Justin Holbrook, three players will leave the club at the end of the season.

Winger Adam Swift will join Hull FC in 2020, bringing to an end a seven-year spell with the club that has seen him make 130 appearances and score 86 tries.

Prop Luke Douglas, who has spent this season on loan at Leigh, has chosen to retire after a stellar career that has seen him amass over 300 career appearances for Saints, the Centurions, Cronulla and Gold Coast.

Finally, young back rower Liam Cooper will leave the club to take up a contract elsewhere, after spending the past two seasons on loan at Halifax.

In a statement, the club confirmed that the departing players will be given an official farewell ahead of this Friday’s semi-final clash with Wigan.

The club also commented: “Everyone at the club would like to thank all three players for their commitment and services to the Saints, and we wish them all the very best in the future.”
