With the time for wheeling and dealing very much underway throughout the tiers of rugby league, contracts are being signed left, right and centre.
For some players, though, it is a time of anxiety and trying to put themselves in the shop window in order to attract any potential suitors.
For Wigan Warriors, it’s going to be a case of few ins and outs heading into 2023 as head coach Matty Peet looks to nail down some consistency in his side.
The Warriors have the fewest men out of contract in the entire Super League with just seven – and a lot of those will likely re-sign before the end of the year.
Sam Powell and Liam Farrell, for example, are the heartbeats of this Wigan side and Peet will almost certainly want to keep them around the DW Stadium.
Alongside that duo are youngsters Ethan Havard and James McDonnell who have both looked the part entirely when given a chance in the first-team, especially with Havard nailing down a first-team spot.
The remaining trio of Thomas Leuluai, Jake Bibby and Bevan French are perhaps more uncertain, with Leuluai approaching the twilight of his career and Bibby being linked with a move to Huddersfield Giants.
French, meanwhile, has yet to decide where his future lay.
