“They were prepared to offer more money”

Hull FC head coach Lee Radford has revealed the reasons behind the departures of Dean Hadley and Jez Litten.

The pair joined rivals Hull KR on Monday with their initial loan deals becoming permanent at the end of the season.

Despite struggling to break into the first team at the KCOM Stadium, their exits received a mixed reaction from FC supporters.

However Radford explained that the Robins in fact offered more money to secure the promising duo.

“I can’t speak highly enough of them.” he told Hull Live.

“They’re two great lads who have been a pleasure to have around the place. But Hull KR were prepared to offer more money than we were and they go with our blessing and best wishes.

“Jez was unfortunate to be behind and 80-minute hooker in Danny Houghton, who plays every week and I couldn’t give him the opportunity.

“Dean is behind some world class back-rowers and more will be coming next year. I’m not saying that Dean can’t be world class too, but we just haven’t been able to give him the minutes he wants.”
