“They deserved to win” – Jamie Peacock reflects on Challenge Cup clash

Hull FC’s game against St Helens over the weekend was full of talking points.

But something that went under the radar was how good the up against it Black and Whites were in the game.

Especially Tex Hoy, playing out of position, and Davy Litten taking over at fullback.

Jamie Peacock claimed that the two deserved to be on the winning side.

“They were excellent. They deserved to be on the winning side today. They have a bit of class about them,” Peacock said on BBC.

Of course, the duo lost largely due to the red card for Josh Griffin for dissent.

On this, Peacock said:

“None of us know what has been said. For it go from a yellow to a red, it is not a polite word that he has been called. He has clearly said something serious.

“We have seen it on a slightly different note with Josh McGuire. His career is over from the language he has used.

“It is unacceptable. I don’t think you should talk back to referees. You are never going to change your mind.

“I’d like to see him come out and apologies for it, to the team to the club and say look I got it wrong.”
