Theo Fages’ next destination revealed as exit from St Helens confirmed

It was confirmed live on Sky Sports tonight that Theo Fages will be leaving St Helens at the end of the season.

Saints put in a champion shift to run out 36-8 winners over Leeds Rhinos at the Totally Wicked Stadium in the semi-final of the Super League play-offs.

And, they have been able to do that without the services of livewire halfback Fages, who Brian Carney confirmed, will be in a Huddersfield Giants shirt from 2022.

Fages suffered a broken shoulder early in Saints’ victory over Castleford Tigers in the Challenge Cup final way back in July and had to undergo surgery.

Head coach Kristian Woolf said this at the time: “He suffered a new injury to the same shoulder.

“You could see with some of his passes that he was suffering and he was trying to get through it, but he didn’t want to let anyone down and it shows how tough he is.

“To score a try and do what he did, I can’t speak highly enough of him and what the team means to him.”

Fages was shown giving a guard of honour at the end of the victory over Leeds, alongside the departing Joel Thompson and Lachlan Coote.
