The World Cup 9’s will continue to grow

As an attendee at the World Cup 9’s for both days, I must admit I was a little disappointed at the turnout for the event.

With the attendance at just over 12,000 on the first day and the attendance not made public on the second, the NRL has plenty of room for improvement in the coming years.

However, when in a discussion with Clarkey from Clarkey’s Rugby League Column and Michael from the Chasing Kangaroos Podcast during the event, a point was made that the main reason the attendance was so low was down to a history of rugby league fans being unsure of new concepts, so whilst many were happy to tune in, they did not want to attend as they were unsure of the end product they were presented with.

From the response online, it seems many were impressed by the event, so expect their to be a significant rise in attendance for the next World Cup 9’s.
