The two Super League clubs best placed to sign star winger

NRL winger Josh Mansour is looking for a club in 2023.

The winger has been one of the best try scorers in the NRL in the last decade at Penrith Panthers and South Sydney Rabbitohs.

But he has yet to secure a club for the new season despite interest from Sydney Roosters.

The reason he has yet to secure a move in the NRL is due to the fact that salary cap negotiations are still on going making it difficult for NRL clubs to secure signings due to the uncertainty over how the cap will look in the future according to the Sydney Morning Herald.

This has also resulted in Super League interest in prop Martyn Taupau as they look to exploit the situation which leaves the former Super League target in limbo.

Now the same could happen with Mansour but which clubs are best positioned to sign the winger.

The obvious pick would be Leigh Leopards. They have lost backs Nene MacDonald to Leeds Rhinos and Blake Ferguson on compassionate grounds which would make Mansour the ideal replacement and they certainly have the cap space as confirmed by owner Derek Beaumont who revealed after their 10 signings that they were still in the market.

Another club who could bring in the winger is Catalans Dragons. They are already spoilt for choice for wingers in 2023 with Tom Davis, Fouad Yaha and Tom Johnstone but need another centre so if they want to move Mansour or the likes of Yaha to centre then a move for the former Panther could make sense.

The other club in Super League with a quota spot in Salford Red Devils but he is not the kind of signing you would expect them to make especially with Ken Sio and Joe Burgess at the club as well as Rhys Williams and Deon Cross.
