The two players Phil Clarke thinks can win the Man of Steel

Two players have been in truly exceptional form to start the season in the shape of George Williams and Jordan Abdull.

Phil Clarke is backing one of the two to win the Man of Steel award at the end of the season.

He said of the two on Sky Sports:

“Jordan Abdull and George Williams are having special seasons. Williams is leading the Man of Steel race but if he doesn’t win it it could be Jordan Abdull.

“You’d expect him to push Williams all the way for the award as the individually best player in the league.”

He is also tipping Abdull’s side Hull KR to become a top team again in 2023:

“It has been a long time since Hull KR have been a top team in this country but over this Easter they are looking like they could be a top team again in 2023.

“They beat Leeds last week and they have been really impressive against Hull FC today.

“It is very early to say that Hull KR will get to the Grand Final but in this game they have shown they can defend, they can get in the grind and they have the skill to score tries.

“At the end of the year, when you look back at the Grand Final winners and all the tries they scored, you will see tries like this.”
