The top five centre-wing partnerships in Super League

Partnerships in any sport are key especially in attack to conjure up attacking opportunities.

That is very true in rugby league as well especially in the wing-centre partnerships which can be the difference between scoring and not scoring a try and equally winning and losing.

But which teams have the best centre-wing partnerships? It is the area that has undergone the most change going into 2023 with most teams settling into new partnerships

5. Nene MacDonald and Ash Handley – Leeds Rhinos
One of those new partnerships is at Headingley with Nene MacDonald joining from Leigh Leopards to partner one of Super League’s best wingers in the shape of Ash Handley. MacDonald is a try scoring machine and a physical threat who will partner nicely with Handley.

4. Shaun Kenny-Dowall and Ryan Hall – Hull KR
Few centre-wing partnerships have the same level of experience as this duo. Ryan Hall is still one of the best wingers around and one of three players to have scored over 200 Super League tries. He is joined by 2022 Dream Team centre Shaun Kenny-Dowall.

3. Deon Cross and Ken Sio – Salford Red Devils
Deon Cross was one of the best finds of the 2023 season and with the try scoring sensation that is Ken Sio, the two were formidable.

2. Konrad Hurrell and Tommy Makinson – St Helens
Tommy Makinson has been one of Super League’s best players for a decade but Konrad Hurrell complimented him in a way that no other player has given by the try scoring Makinson enjoyed in 2022. He could have finished the season as the top try scorer if not fir injury.

1. Tim Lafai and Joe Burgess – Salford Red Devils
Tim Lafai could be regarded as the signing of the season in 2022 and was so devastating that he caused St Helens endless problems at time. Meanwhile, Joe Burgess us a great finisher and together they are deadly.
