A number of Super League players reached special milestones for their careers this week, in Round 26 of action.
We’re heading very close to the end of the season, and for some players, that means an end to their time in Super League.
That includes veterans such as Danny Houghton (who recently reached 450 Super League appearances) and Paul McShane, who have called time on their playing careers.
However, others have this week achieved milestones of their own.
The Super League players who reached milestones this week
Liam Marshall, soon after being called up for England, and having a chance at a first official cap, reached 150 Wigan Warriors tries in a special career.
Meanwhile, Marc Sneyd moved to eighth in the all-time Super League points rankings, overtaking Sean Long.
Kevin Sinfield CBE sits top of the ranking, almost 1,000 points higher than anyone else.
Sneyd also needed just four goals kicked to reach 1,000 – which he managed.
There are also a number of players that made their 100th career appearance.
Zane Musgrove of Warrington Wolves, in his first year in Super League, reached 100 first-grade appearances – the bulk of which were recorded at South Sydney Rabbitohs and Wests Tigers.
That was also a milestone reached by Leeds Rhinos half Matt Frawley, after time with Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, Huddersfield Giants and Canberra Raiders.
His team-mate Jarrod O’Connor also reached 100, with all of his top-tier appearances coming with the Rhinos.
Meanwhile, fellow Leeds hooker Andy Ackers made his 100th Super League appearance – first with Toronto Wolfpack, he then made 74 Salford Red Devils appearances before moving to Headingley.
Curtis Sironen, meanwhile, reached 200 in his career, and Daryl Clark needs one more try to reach 100 in his career.
Huddersfield Giants man Joe Greenwood made his 250th career appearance, but not to be beaten, Leigh Leopards duo Brad Dwyer and Gareth O’Brien both made their 300th appearance.
Finally, Josh Charnley’s next try will draw him level with Danny McGuire in second of the all-time try scorer ranking.
