The Sky is the Linnett for Rovers

Hull KR have announced their 2nd signing of Australian stars in a week , after Mitch Garbutt was announced a few days ago , with the news that NRL star Kane Linnett has signed a 3 year deal .

Linnett, an NRL winner in 2015, began his career with the Sydney Roosters in 2010, he remained with the club until the end of 2011 and represented them on twenty-three occasions, scoring four tries. As well as being a powerful ball carrier, Linnett also provides some versatility for the Robins with his ability to play both centre and second row.
At the end of the 2011 season Linnett moved to North Queensland Cowboys where he established himself as a first-grade regular, over the next eight seasons Linnett went on to appear for the club one hundred and sixty-two times, scoring an impressive fifty-four tries. The most famous of these appearances being in the clubs thrilling NRL Grand Final victory over Brisbane Broncos in 2015.

As well as appearing in the NRL, Linnett has also made six representative appearances, five of those for Scotland, who he qualified to play for through family links, and one for Country Origin back in 2016.
Rovers Head Coach Tim Sheens commented on the signing “Kane is obviously a very experienced NRL player with over 180 first-grade games, he’s 29 years old and plays both centre and second row which will give us a lot of depth in that area.
“Kane is a very professional player, a very good player but also a very good person so I think he will add to the culture of the club
Speaking to hullkr.co.uk, Linnett added “I always wanted to finish my career in the Super League, I’m really excited to get over there and meet a new bunch of boys, get settled in, work hard and hopefully have a good year.
Having a senior role, I’ve got a lot of experience in the NRL so I’d like to help some of the younger boys through and it would be great to win a Super League title. I’ve played a couple of finals here in the NRL, so that would be the ultimate achievement.”
Linnett will join up with the rest of the Robins squad at the end of November once his visa and paperwork have been granted .
