The Salford Red Devils players with a point to prove in 2023

The best thing about sport is that it is an ongoing story. Its stars are the characters, the stadiums are the majestic settings that home fairytales and each season acts as a chapter in the most compelling on running drama series man has ever penned.

Every year it seems there are a million stories to light up Super League often driven by the stars of the game.

Whether it is a star player shining as bright as can be, a youngster making a name for himself, a new signing changing the complexion of the league or someone written off in the past who has a point to prove in the new season.

That’s what we’re considering today, those players with a point to prove in 2023 and we’re looking at Salford Red Devils.

Of all the Super League sides, the Red Devils aren’t really a team that has much to prove in 2023 after a sensational season in 2022.

The new faces of course will have something to prove as will those looking to force their way into the first choice 17.

However, the players perhaps with the most to prove are Andy Ackers and Marc Sneyd.

On the back of a sensational 2022 Super League season, both were picked by Shaun Wane to be in the England squad for the World Cup but neither featured in the semi-final defeat against Samoa.

They will want to prove that this was a mistake from Wane.
