Huddersfield Giants have made some interesting signings for the Super League season ahead after a disappointing 2024 campaign.
Finishing ninth in the table again, they were unable to make the most of a relatively good start to the campaign.
Now, with no more Ian Watson at the club, it’s Luke Robinson in charge for the Giants, and he’s already had big names such as Jacob Gagai and Tom Burgess join the club from NRL alongside Super League names including George King and Liam Sutcliffe.
However, there are a number of players that could be going the other way at the end of the season, with their contracts up come the end of the campaign.
Who are those players?
Every Huddersfield Giants player out of contract after 2025
Jake Bibby, given the number three shirt and expected to be a starting centre in 2025, has just one year left – as does prop Jack Bibby.
Leroy Cudjoe is another high-profile centre that could leave after next year, after almost 400 appearances and 17 seasons playing for the club in Super League.
Meanwhile, new signing Zac Woolford, joining after three seasons in NRL with Canberra Raiders, is only one a one-year deal, meaning unless they manage to secure an extension for their new number nine, he’ll be leaving after a solitary season in claret and gold.
Young Thomas Deakin, also signed from Australia – albeit in 2023 – has just one more year of his own deal also.
Aidan McGowan, after somewhat of a breakthrough season in 2024 with an extended run of games on the wing for the first time in Super League, will be hoping he can emulate names such as Sam Halsall in securing a longer-term contract, as could Connor Carr.
Harvey Livett and Joe Greenwood could also be losses in the pack if their deals aren’t extended beyond 2025.
