Joe Lovodua will not be joining Hull KR.
That’s according to Hull Live where the initial speculation came from after the publication had listed five potential replacements for hooker Matt Parcell.
Parcell was linked with a move to Redcliffe Dolphins or the Brisbane Broncos, but nothing has been agreed yet.
But, Lovodua will not be making the cross-city move after impressing greatly in his first season in Super League.
The former South Sydney Rabbitohs star signed just a one-year deal after failing to make an NRL appearance for either the Rabbitohs or previous club St George Illawarra Dragons.
Lovodua has quickly become a fans’ favourite at the MKM Stadium for his passion and skill – as well as his ability to play anywhere on the field except prop.
He is expected to play for the Black and Whites against Toulouse Olympique on Saturday afternoon with the absence of Luke Gale who is still banned.
Since moving to East Yorkshire, Gale has been clear on the injury front – though a five-match ban in round two didn’t exactly get his career off to the best of starts at Hull and he has since been banned for a further two.
A born competitor, Gale was made captain by head coach Brett Hodgson and has revealed what he brings to that role.
“By no exception do I think I am perfect,” Gale told the Jacuzzi Performance podcast.
“I compete and compete hard in everything I do – I’m not the biggest or strongest but I give my all every time.
“It’s always good leading the boys out and leading by example.
“I will come off the field and give 100% and I think that’s what you need as a leader.”
