The five Super League clubs set for major success in the next five years

Right now much of the talk centres around the 2o23 Super League season and what teams can achieve next year.

But plans will already be put in place by clubs to ensure continuing success beyond 2023.

So, which clubs are best placed to achieve success in the next five years.

St Helens
This one goes without saying. The Champions of the last four years and the overwhelming favourites for the title again in 2023, some of St Helens’ key players are reaching the twilight of their careers but the club’s next man up philosophy is brilliant in keeping the club fresh. They have never not finished in the play-offs for example and have always replaced their best players and already have a crop of young players coming through into the first team like Jack Welsby, Jon Bennison and Lewis Dodd.

Leeds Rhinos
Another club with a brilliant academy, many of their star players are young and from the club’s academy such as Mikolaj Oledzki, Cameron Smith, Harry Newman and Morgan Gannon all of whom are set to get better. Meanwhile, the next lot of young players to star for the first team from the academy are already coming through in the shape of Max Simpson and co. They have other young players like ex-Widnes Vikings duo Sam Walters and Jarrod O’Connor as well as their crop of new young signings with huge potential.

Castleford Tigers
Like Leeds, the Tigers have signed some exciting young prospects to go into their squad for 2023 and beyond including ex-Leeds Jack Broadbent ensuring a promising future for the West Yorkshire club. They also have the likes of Jason Qareqare and other young players who have recently made their name in Super League.

Hull KR
Some of Hull KR’s star players are still in their youth such as Jez Litten and Mikey Lewis and the club is churning out future stars every season such as the latest crop which included the exciting debut of Zack Fishwick last year.

Huddersfield Giants
The Giants have made impressive signings for the present and the future going into 2023 and already have one of the hottest young properties tied down for 2024 in the shape of George Flanagan Jr. The likes of Harry Rushton have just arrived, George Roby is a future star hooker whilst Innes Senior, Oliver Wilson and Owen Trout are key men all of whom are still young.
