The five Super League clubs best placed to win silverware in 2023

2023 is here and it could be a big year for Super League clubs especially those that end the season with silverware.

With that in mind, here are five teams best placed to win silverware in 2023.

St Helens
There is an argument to be made that St Helens are best placed to win all three trophies in 2023. The Super League Champions have made winning a habit and have many of the pillars of their success still at the club. Their young players are dangerous players too. The only doubt would be whether the inexperienced Paul Wellens will have the tools to keep up Saints’ dynasty.

Wigan Warriors
The Warriors won a record 20th Challenge Cup in 2022 and in the shape of Jai Field and Bevan French have two players that have the ability to defeat any team on their given day. They have a strong halfback pairing in Harry Smith and Cade Cust and more attacking weapons with Toby King and Jake Wardle joining the club.

Huddersfield Giants
They finished third in 2022 and were minutes away from the Challenge Cup. In 2023, they have added more attacking weapons to turn possession into points in 2022 which was at times a weakness last season. Jake Connor could be the difference.

Salford Red Devils
No team was better to watch in 2022 than Salford Red Devils and they showed they can beat the very best when they defeated St Helens 44-12. They also stepped up when the pressure was on which means they could win either the Challenge Cup or Grand Final.

Leeds Rhinos
Like Salford, Leeds showed that they can step up when the pressure is on and win must win games which will stand them in a good position when it comes to trophy chasing. They will use last year’s experiences well in 2023 and play an attacking brand which could see them push for silverware.
