The changeover at London continues as starlet leaves the capital for Championship rivals

There’s huge changes going on at London. Following their relegation from Super League back in 2019, the Broncos have struggled to recapture the magic that took them into the top flight in the first place. Thus, the club are starting fresh and with that has come a number of departures.

Not only have the Broncos appointed a new coach ahead of 2022, they’ve also gone part-time and are beginning an overhaul of their squad. They’ve brought in some talented players including the recent addition of Dean Parata from Featherstone. But there are two sides to every story and on the other side of this one, a number of London’s 2021 squad are moving on to pastures new in 2022.

The latest confirmed departure is young centre Josh Hodson. The 21-year-old hails from Newport and attracted plenty of attention from a number of Championship clubs owing to a number of standout performances last term.

But it’s Batley Bulldogs who have won the race for his signature bringing the young outside back in ahead of the 2022 campaign no doubt to provide some much needed depth following the departure of Elliot Hall who leaves for Bradford leaving Batley’s outside backs with one less star next term.

Hodson will join one of the Championship’s best teams from last season after the Bulldogs forced their way into the top four and even made it to the semi-finals where they gave as good as they got in the first half against eventual Champions Toulouse.

With bags of potential, the young centre should kick on in 2022.
