‘That’s just b*llocks’ – James Graham in expletive rant about players at his former side

Turmoil can often surround a club and plague it for a number of weeks, months and even years.

If a rot sets in it is incredibly difficult to get rid of it.

Well, for Canterbury Bulldogs, that rot has well and truly placed itself at the centre of the club, with Trent Barrett losing his job yesterday and centre Brent Naden following him out of the club today.

However, former St Helens and Bulldogs stalwart James Graham, has rubbished claims that players are wanting to leave because Barrett has been shown the door.

“All this talk around ‘I signed for Trent, I wanted to play for Barrett’ and now Barrett has gone and players are saying he was the reason they signed – that’s just b*llocks,” Graham said on Fox League.

“How about just play for him then? If you are so concerned about playing for Trent Barrett or signing because of him show it on the field.

“It’s a simple solution, you knew he was under pressure weeks and months ago, so I don’t buy that narrative of ‘now Trent’s gone I don’t know if I am going to stay.'”

Where Canterbury will head for their next head coach for 2023 and beyond remains to be seen, but former Bradford Bulls coach Mick Potter is expected to take the reins for the rest of 2022.
