Sydney Roosters forward set to join Super League side

Sydney Roosters prop Sio Siua Taukeiaho is reportedly set to join Catalans Dragons.

However, despite the Daily Telegraph reporting that Taukeiaho is being hunted by the Super League Grand Finalists, the deal will likely be for 2023 and beyond, with the Roosters determined to keep hold of the Tongan international for 2022.

Taukeaiho, who is good friends with former Catalans and Roosters forward Sam Moa, was linked with a move to the Super League earlier on in the season, but those rumours went quiet.

Now, however, it appears as though Catalans boss Steve McNamara is hunting the 29-year-old to possibly finish his career in the south of France.

Taukeiaho has been a massive hit for the Roosters, though knee and hamstring injuries have plagued his time on the field in recent seasons.

The prop – who can also play second-row and loose forward – has played 150 games for Sydney, scoring 168 points since joining from the New Zealand Warriors in 2015.
