Swinton Lions release smart home shirt and radical away kit for 2022

Swinton may have slipped into League 1 at the end of the 2021 campaign following a disappointing season in which they won just two league games in the Championship, but the Lions are remaining positive and got their fans excited for the new season on Friday night at their season launch.

The club described the launch as “a highly successful evening” on their website as the board gave the plenty of fans in attendance updates about the club whilst Head Coach Allan Coleman introduced his new squad for the 2022 season as they look to return to the Championship for 2023.

But the highlight of the night was the reveal of the new home and away shirts the Lions will wear in 2022 to the packed out audience.

The jerseys designed by Supro are both brilliant in their own right but for very different reasons. The home shirt mixes the past with modernity as it adopts a traditional royal blue base with two white vees over the top of the chest. However, the intricate light blue detailing woven into the darker blue base adds something extra to the shirt making it more than just the standard Swinton jersey.

Meanwhile, the away kit does something much more radical. It adopts a black base and is fairly simple until you notice the striking blue claw marks at the bottom of the jersey tying in their identity as the Lions as well as hinting at the motto “we bleed blue.”

Details about ordering the shirts in time for Christmas are available on the club website.
