Surprise frontrunner appears for Leigh job

Andrew Henderson is apparently being targeted to be the next Leigh boss, the Warrington Guardian has reported.

Leigh boss John Duffy was given his marching orders this morning, but owner Derek Beaumont is determined to act quickly in order to save the Centurions’ Super League existence.

And, reports have linked Henderson – who is currently Warrington assistant to Steve Price and who will be leaving the Halliwell Jones Stadium at the end of the season – to the vacant role.

Former Scottish international Henderson has had spells coaching at Sheffield and London, but may get his first appointment in Super League, though the Guardian has revealed that Leigh have yet to make an official approach.
