St Helens duo Morgan Knowles and Regan Grace are joined by Wigan centre Oliver Gildart in the three-man shortlist of the 2017 Super League Young Player of the Year.

The three nominees all meet the criteria for the award which states players must be under 21 years of age at the start of the season.

Young forward Knowles has been one of Saints’ stand-out performers this season contributing with 822 tackles, while Grace has impressed since making his debut on Good Friday.

The winger burst onto the scene with a dazzling display at the DW Stadium and has gone on to score 10 tries this campaign for the Red Vee.

Meanwhile Gildart, who scored a try in Wigan’s World Club Challenge triumph over Cronulla, has impressed throughout 2017 and is in contention for an England World Cup place.

The prolific centre has scored 11 tries and created 7 more this season, while also boasting one of the highest average gains of any player in Super League.

The winner will be chosen at the Steve Prescott Man of Steel awards evening in Manchester on Tuesday October 3.
