Hull Kingston Rovers have confirmed that Ethan Ryan will miss the rest of the season after suffering a fractured scaphoid in the win over Wigan Warriors.

Rovers overcame Wigan in dramatic fashion after Ryan made a try-scoring return to his career at Craven Park.

The winger has suffered with the injury before – only on his opposite wrist which is a cruel twist of fate the flier.

Ryan made the move to Humberside ahead of the 2020 season, but has registered just 11 appearances since joining from Bradford.

It was at Odsal where Ryan made a name for himself with incredible corner finishes, having finished his Bulls career with 87 tries in just shy of 100 games.

The Irish international is just 25 and so is likely to make a full recovery in time for the 2022 season.

Ryan becomes the latest end-of-season casualty for the Robins with Adam Quinlan also ruled out for the rest of the campaign.
