At the start of the 2024 season, Sky Sports agreed a deal a deal to broadcast every Super League game. The move means there is more Rugby League on television than ever before, providing a feast for fans. Now, Super League have confirmed their summer broadcast schedule, which includes a historic double header.
The biggest date in the festival comes on the 12th July, as Super League confirmed a major double header. Wigan Warriors and St Helens men’s and women’s teams will meet on the same night, with both games shown live on Sky Sports. The men’s teams are currently locked level on points at the top of the Super League.
Wigan’s women’s side tops the Women’s Super League, with Challenge Cup holders, St Helens, just two points behind after the opening three games. The double header promises to be a mouth-watering feast of Rugby League.

A statement from Super League confirmed that Sky will broadcast a historic double header between St Helens and Wigan.
“Sky Sports will cover a historic night in Wigan on Friday July 12, as for the first time in the town there will be a double header of Men’s and Women’s derbies against St Helens.”
The statement continues, “Wigan Warriors Women played their first match at The Brick Community Stadium against Barrow Raiders last month, and this will be the first time they have hosted their local rivals at the ground.
“The Warriors, after appointing Denis Betts as coach in the off-season, offered further evidence of their growing competitiveness by giving Leeds Rhinos a fright in last weekend’s Betfred Challenge Cup Semi Finals – but Saints underlined their status as the team to beat by crushing York Valkyrie to secure their fourth consecutive Cup Final appearance.
The Betfred Super League clash that follows will provide Matt Peet’s Warriors with a first chance to take revenge for the defeat they suffered against Saints at the Totally Wicked Stadium in a titanic struggle on Good Friday – with the rivals meeting for a third time this season at Magic Weekend in Leeds in August.”
