Round 16 of Super League is in the books and it was another enthralling weekend of action.
Wins came for Hull KR, Wigan Warriors, Warrington Wolves, St Helens, Catalans Dragons and Leeds Rhinos as we edge ever closer to the business end of the season, we’re starting to get a firm idea of how things might pan out.
Here’s we take a look back at the last round of fixtures and pick our team of the week.
Super League team of the week
Full-back: Tristan Sailor (St Helens)
With two tries and four assists, Sailor continues to be the scourge of Salford, making it six tries and 10 assists he has recorded against them this season. With 255 metres made too, Sailor visibly enjoyed himself against the Red Devils.
Wing: Kyle Feldt (St Helens)
Feldt got himself another hat-trick on Sunday, having scored four against the Red Devils a fortnight ago. If he can stay fit now, he might just be able to challenge those at the top end of the try scoring ranks.
Centre: Harry Newman (Leeds Rhinos)
Newman has come in for criticism for some of his performances this season but he was excellent against Leigh Leopards, getting over twice and setting one more up.
Centre: Peta Hiku (Hull KR)
Hiku is enjoying himself on KR’s right edge, with a try and two assists coming against Wakefield Trinity. He might just find himself on the most potent edge in the competition at present.
Wing: Tom Davies (Hull KR)
His first Hull KR Super League hat-trick means Davies now has 13 for the season and finds himself just five behind leader Jai Field.
Half-back: George Williams (Warrington Wolves)
Despite all the speculation around his future, Williams turned in a strong showing against Hull FC to help Warrington record their first win of the month, with 167 metres made. It must be said that Castleford Tigers’ Daejarn Asi can count himself unfortunate not to make the cut for his performance against Wigan.
Half-back: Jake Connor (Leeds Rhinos)
The Man of Steel frontrunner was excellent again on Friday night, setting up three tries with his nous and skill.
Prop: Alex Walmsley (St Helens)
A big showing from the prop, who carried for 141 metres from 14 carries. He’s in fine form at present and should be in the England reckoning.
Hooker: Daryl Clark (St Helens)
The hooker ran for 150 metres, made 32 tackles and got himself over for a try against Salford. Jake Burns deserves a mention, too, grabbing two tries after replacing Clark in the second half.
Prop: Dean Hadley (Hull KR)
Hadley just keeps on impressing in red and white and looks at home through the middle. He made 46 tackles and 87 metres in what was a winning effort at Craven Park.
Second-row: Kallum Watkins (Leeds Rhinos)
A man of the match worthy performance from Watkins, who rolled back the years to score twice against Leigh Leopards.
Second-row: Liam Farrell (Wigan Warriors)
Wigan struggled at Castleford, but Farrell was the man to grab the all important try in the closing stages. He made 43 tackles and 121 metres in the game, too.
Loose-forward: Ben Currie (Warrington Wolves)
Another Warrington Wolves standout. Currie played his part in a dominant pack showing, making 101 metres with the ball in hand and making 38 tackles against the Black and Whites.
