Super League Team News: New signings in line for debut as Wigan suffer double blow

Danny Richardson lands a touchline conversion*** during the Super League match between Castleford Tigers and Salford Red Devils at Wheldon Road.

The 21-man squads for Sunday’s games in Round 12 of Super League have been confirmed.

London Broncos host Hull KR, with the Broncos hoping to add to their first victory of the season, having defeated Hull FC last time out. KR will be hoping to bounce back from their heavy defeat in the Challenge Cup semi-final.

In Sunday’s other fixture, Salford Red Devils host Wigan Warriors. The Red Devils are currently sixth in the Super League table, and a win against Wigan would close the gap on the top four. Wigan are currently top of the table, and one of four sides on 16 points. However, Wigan have a game in hand on their rivals.

London Broncos have named two players in the squad who have recently signed deals to remain with the club until the end of the current Super League season.

It was confirmed yesterday that French International, Ugo Tison, had signed a permanent deal from the Catalans Dragons, which will run until the end of the season.

Tison is joined in the squad by Jacob Jones, whose loan from the Leigh Leopards has been extended for the season. Harvey Makin drops out of the squad, having returned to Wigan at the end of his loan. Jack Hughes and Matt Davies come into the squad, with James Meadows out injured.

Danny Richardson is in line to make his debut for Hull KR, having been included in the squad for the first time since joining from Castleford Tigers. Connor Barley is also in for KR for the first time this season. He joins Jack Broadbent and Jack Brown who return to the squad.

Joe Burgess went off for a HIA assessment late on and now misses the game. Louix Gorman and Leo Tennison have also dropped out of the squad. Reiss Butterworth is the other change from the 21-man squad, having left the club to join Dewsbury Rams on loan.

Having failed to qualify for the Challenge Cup semi-finals, Salford are able to name a strong squad for their game against Wigan. Harvey Wilson goes straight into the squad and is in line to make his debut, having recently joined from Wigan.

Shane Wright, Jake Shorrocks. Gil Dudson and Joe Mellor all return to contention for the Red Devils, having recovered from recent injuries. Cade Cust, Jack Ormondroyd, Ben Hellewell and Adam Sidlow are all missing for Salford having picked up knocks.

Sam Eseh is in line to make his debut for Wigan, having recently spent time on loan with the Castleford Tigers. The former Wakefield Trinity man goes straight into the squad after the completion of his recent loan spell. Young hooker, Tom Forber, also makes the 21-man squad, having spent time on loan at Barrow Raiders this season.

The Warriors are weakened by suspensions picked up in the Challenge Cup semi-final against KR. Both Kaide Ellis and Sam Walters received one-match bans following the cup match, and the Warriors decided not to appeal the decision.

Ellis received a Grade B charge for Dangerous Contact, while Walters received a Grade B charge for contact with the head.
