Super League Team News: Hull KR welcome back captain, Leeds Rhinos bring in forward and overseas half-back set for York Knights debut

The squad news is in for Friday’s Super League action, with teams such as Hull KR, Leeds Rhinos and Leigh Leopards all in action.

Starting with the earlier game on Friday, which sees KR travel to Toulouse in the slightly earlier kick-off time of 6:00pm (UK), the Robins welcome back skipper Elliot Minchella.

The captain missed the Cup win over York with a tight hamstring issue, but is ready to feature this week given a few extra days recovery.

A decision has also been made on Dean Hadley, who only featured in the first half and was rested for the second due to a flare up of the eye injury suffered in the World Club Challenge.

He makes the side, meaning there is no place for former Warrington man Tom Whitehead this weekend.

For Toulouse, they make a number of selection changes after their trip to Catalans a fortnight ago including Tyler Dupree and joint-top try scorer at the club Benjamin Laguerre dropping out.

Toulouse Olympique 21-man squad: Olly Ashall-Bott, Paul Ulberg, Reubenn Rennie, Thomas Lacans, Jake Shorrocks, Lambert Belmas, Brendan Hands, James Roumanos, Maxime Stefani, Mathieu Jussaume, Anthony Marion, Rob Butler, Baptiste Rodriguez, AJ Wallace, Ellis Gillam, Henry O’Kane, Luke Polselli, Mathieu Pons, Cesar Rouge, Tiaki Chan, Victor Collin

Moving on to the 8pm kick-offs, Leeds Rhinos make the short trip to in-f0rm Huddersfield Giants, who have won their last two games since sacking Luke Robinson.

The Giants welcome back Sam Halsall and Harry Rushton to the 21-man squad. Winger returns in the place of Connor Wrench, who is not risked after picking up a slight strain, whilst Rushton has recovered from a broken thumb.

Leeds make just one change to their side, with Harry Newman, who has joined Hull FC on loan, dropping out. The Rhinos have brought in young forward Tom Nicholson-Watton as his replacement.

The third game on Friday sees York Knights welcome Leigh Leopards, in a game that sees teams 12th and 13th in the table go head-to-head.

Both sides go into the game on the back of Cup exits, but the good news for York is that they will welcome back some loan players who were unavailable last time out.

York have Sam Cook and David Nofoaluma returning from Newcastle Thunder, whilst there is a potential Super League debut for Cody Hunter, the Australian half-back currently thriving for the North East outfit.

Jon Bennison is named for the first time this season whilst Leeds loanee Ben Littlewood is also included.
