Super League Team News: Castleford Tigers bring in Leeds Rhinos forward on loan as Hull KR make two changes

Castleford Tigers have added another player to their squad this week, after securing a loan deal for a Leeds Rhinos man.

Tom Nicholson-Watton will join Ryan Carr’s side on a week-to-week basis, and he goes straight into contention for this week’s game against Hull KR.

Nicholson-Watton has nine Super League appearances to his name, with his first coming against Castleford back in Round 27 of 2023, Leeds’ final game of that season.

This season has seen him feature twice for Leeds and three times for Championship side Hunslet, and after the club announced two permanent signings this week, he is another fresh face in the 21-man squad.

The Tigers take on the Robins in the opening game of the round, and new faces Tyler Dupree and Phoenix Laulu-Togaga’e join the Rhinos prop in the squad.

Also returning to the side is Jimmy Beckett, who has seen his loan spell at Sheffield Eagles cut short. Cain Robb also returns as he looks to make his first appearance of the season.

Former Featherstone man Beckett is in line to make his return to Super League after making three appearances so far in 2026.

Dropping out in their places are George Lawler, who copped a two-match ban from the Match Review Panel this week, Liam Hood, who is reportedly out with a neck issue and George Hirst, who failed a HIA in last week’s defeat to Hull FC.

Semmi Valemei, Jack Ashworth and Jenson Windley also drop out.

Opponents Hull KR have made fewer swaps, but they are not completely unchanged as Jordan Dezaria drops out due to failing a HIA.

Oliver Gildart returns to the side after missing last week, whilst Bill Leyland drops out in place of Jack Charles.
