Super League target set to struggle for game time in 2023 making move more likely

Jared Waerea-Hargreaves has confirmed he will join Hull KR in 2025.

Jared Waerea-Hargreaves has been one of the best props in the NRL for years and he could soon be one of the best props in Super League.

Talk of this started in the Rugby League World Cup as it was reported that Catalans Dragons discussed making an approach for the prop according to the Daily Telegraph.

This became more possible when JWH’s former Sydney Roosters’ teammate Dylan Napa was released by mutual consent by the French side after Josh Drinkwater left for Warrington Wolves. This opened up two quota spots for the Dragons to use.

There is a real link between the Roosters and the Dragons with former Rooster Mitchell Pearce in the halves, former Sydney assistant Steve McNamara at the helm and the club also announced that JWH’s Roosters teammate Siosiua Taukeiaho had signed a three-year deal with the French club starting in 2023.

However, talk of this has died down with suggestions being that if he was to make the move it would not be until 2024.

But, the Daily Telegraph is now reporting that he may struggle for game time in 2023 with the Roosters having an array of options in the pack.

Could this propel the Roosters prop to make the switch to Super League?

If you believe the rumours, Leigh Leopards – who are ‘planning’ to make further signings including a middle according to owner Derek Beaumont – are also interested and he would be the perfect signing to take the middle spot they want filled.
