Super League target runs out of club options Down Under

Rugby League mistake

Canberra’s interest in Super League target Matt Dufty has cooled, according to the Canberra Times.

St Helens were thought to be chasing the fullback, but the Raiders were the last club in the NRL thought to be interested in the livewire.

However, with Canberra set to turn their attentions to finding a halfback to replace George Williams, the road apparently looks open for Saints to get their man.

Dufty has made almost 80 appearances for St George since debuting in 2017, but has recently found himself on the periphery of head coach Anthony Griffin’s plans.

The fullback would also be more than an adequate replacement for Lachlan Coote, if the latter does indeed depart as has been suggested.
