Super League star says he would be open to NRL move

Tyler Dupree’s future has been up for much debate lately.

The Salford Red Devils prop submitted a transfer request lately after two bids from Hull KR were turned down by the club.

This was followed by an offer from Wigan Warriors.

Dupree though does appear to be happy at Salford for the time being.

That said, he seemingly has his eye on a move to the NRL one day.

“I think that’s anyone in Super League wants to play in the NRL, because they’re doing it better than what we’re doing over here,” Dupree said on the Walkers Only Podcast.

“Everything’s better over there, they’re looked after better Them players over there are like footballers over here. That’s how I’d always compare them.

“People would say to me, well why do you want to go to Australia? It’s just a hot country. But there’s so much more to it.

“I think if we could take a leaf out of Australia’s book and sort of apply that over here, nobody would want to go over there. I feel like people would enjoy rugby more here. If it was the same as over there, but it’s hard because I feel like we’re way behind on that.

“You’d go over there because it’s better from our perspective, but how much pressure are they on over there? You think the media’s bad here and I’ve been on the receiving end of it. Time that by 10 or 20 over in Australia. It’s got its pros and cons though I guess.”
