Yesterday, Hull KR confirmed that star fullback, Lachlan Coote has retired with immediate effect on medical advice following a series of concussions over the past two seasons.
The Windsor-native calls time on his 15-year professional career, having played for Penrith Panthers, North Queensland Cowboys, St. Helens, Scotland RL, Great Britain and Hull KR, winning 6 major finals in England and Australia.
Lachlan joined Hull KR ahead of the 2022 season and has gone on to make 27 appearances for the club, scoring 161 points and surpassing 1,000 career points during his time in Red and White.
Sadly, the end of Lachlan’s time in East Hull has been hampered by concussions, resulting in the 33-year-old receiving expert medical advice to retire earlier this week.
Known for his impressive organisational skills and positional play, the 33-year-old joined Hull KR at a time of exciting growth for the club on and off the field.
Having undertaken a senior position in the first team’s leadership structure, Lachlan has played an integral part in helping the side to progress on and off the field as the Robins look to become Super League title challengers.
The club also confirmed that following his retirement Coote will return to Australia for his next chapter.
