Super League star set to be ruled out with worrying neck injury

Zak Hardaker is set to face a spell on the sideline with a bulging disc issue, Wigan head coach Adrian Lam has confirmed.

The fullback has been absent since Wigan’s 48-0 thrashing by Catalans back in May, but this neck issue will keep him out for over a month, the Manchester Evening News has revealed.

“Zak’s got a bulging disc, so he’s had a needle in there to help settle that,” Lam said.

“He can’t come back and do any contact training until that bulging disc subsides a certain distance in the back of his neck.

“That’s where that sits. It’s meant to be a four-week lay-off for any contact at all and I think we’re into week two and a half now.”
