Super League star set to be out for up to five months after horror injury

Tyrone May is set to be out for between three and five months with a suspected hip dislocation.
The well-respected NRL Physio, who has nearly 83,000 followers on Instagram, believes the Catalans Dragons star has suffered an ‘anterior dislocation’.
May has played 25 times for the Dragons this season, impressing enough to earn a call-up to Matt Parish’s Samoa World Cup squad.
After England pulled away from Samoa at St James’ Park in the World Cup’s opening game this afternoon, former Penrith Panthers star May was introduced from the interchange bench at the start of the second half.
But things didn’t exactly go to plan for the 26-year-old as he went into a tackle with Kallum Watkins and ended up in an awkward position.
May was subsequently stretchered off the pitch after a significant delay and the results of the injury are expected to result in a long time on the sidelines in a big blow for both Samoa and Catalans.
Speaking about the injury, the NRL Physio explained: “Tyrone May with a suspected hip dislocation, off to hospital. Rare mechanism with rotation causing anterior dislocation – bone “pops out” the front, 90% of hip dislocations “pop out” the back due to contact. Fracture/nerve/blood vessel considerations. Usually 3-5 months recovery”
