Hull KR are in a battle with Leeds Rhinos, Warrington Wolves and Salford Red Devils for a play off spot and this week they take on Huddersfield Giants hoping to keep their dreams of Old Trafford strong.
They have won their last two games against two of the top four.
They battered Leigh Leopards at Craven Park avenging their Challenge Cup Final defeat prior to defeating former league leaders Catalans Dragons.
But things are tough for them injury wise.
Elliot Minchella is absent as Willie Peters said: “He’s been one of our best, if not our best, all season. He’s a big energy player for us, he’s really owning that role. He’s going to be a big loss.”
James Bachelor meanwhile is set for surger: “We’ve also got James Batchelor that’s having a minor surgery to his elbow, so he won’t play this week. Hopefully that’s only a one week injury, possibly back the week after, so he’s out this weekend. There’s just a little bone that needs moving or taken out there so it’ll just be a minor clean out.”
Jessie Sue meanwhile is still a little bit off a return: “Jesse Soo we’re hoping was going to be back he hasn’t got to where we need or he needs to be at this stage so yeah we’ve got a few out but we’ve also got a lot to choose from as well. He just he couldn’t get to 100%.
“If he was going to be eligible for selection this week, he needs to meet some certain targets and protocols and he didn’t meet those so we just need to see how he settles down, and then the physio team and medical team have a look at him again just see where he’s at; whether he’s back for next week or whether whether he needs another week.”
But Jordan Abdull is back: “He’ll be back in the in the 21 yes. They’re the headaches you want this time of the year, they’re the headaches coaches or head coaches and staff need to have or want to have.
“We see our spine certainly doing a great job, so again Jordan needs to meet certain protocols and standards to get past and get the approval to play. He trained today, so that’s the first step.”
