Super League star set for scan as he “is in a hell of a lot of pain”

Huddersfield Giants have picked up a number of injuries lately and now they have one more to contend with.

This comes as Ian Watson opened up about doing it tough on the injury front lately.

“We were talking about a couple of injuries this morning and how we have had it pretty tough to be fair and how the guys coming back in can be a big shot in the arm to be fair in terms of confidence,” Watson said.

“You look at Joe Greenwood being out for a while, Theo Fages, Oliver Russell and you can keep going on and on, Ash Golding and you can keep going on.

“We are still picking up injuries now. Obviously Owen Trout has done his ACL, everyone knows about him and he is going to be out for a long period of time.

“We have got Jermaine who is in with a scan again this week.

“So we have had it a bit tough this week. It is what it it is. It’s rugby. We can’t worry or complain about it, we have to deal with it as a squad.”

You’ll notice Jermaine McGillvary mentioned there and Watson explained the situation with him:

“It is actually his bicep. He actually injured it a few weeks back and we have been bringing him back slowly but surely and he was supposed to come back in for this game

“He trained on Monday and got a little knock on it and we thought he had torn his bicep.

“His first scan cleared that up but his arm is that big at the moment it is not stacking up with the scan so we are going to have to send him for another scan and to see another specialist.

“He has been in a hell of a lot of pain so unfortunately he is out again.”
